Brief History
The subject Geography was introduced as a pass subject at the degree level for the science students from the academic session 1991-92. The Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Orissa approved 64 seats for students opting for Physical Sciences. After the Autonomous status was granted to the college there was greater emphasis on quality education being available to the students. Thus, to cater to the pressing demands, 16 seats for students opting for Geography as an Honours subject was made available from the academic session 2009-10. Now the department offers Geography as an Honours, Pass, and Elective at the degree level.
